Pets: Neon Tetra Fish

Are you a first timer in raising fishes? If you are a beginner, then I have a variety of fish that I will suggest specifically for you. Neon Tetra fish whose scientific name is Paracheirodon innesi. Around 1.5 million of the class of this fish is produced from the diverse water areas around the globe and brought in to countries like United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

How Do Neon Tetra Fish Look Like?

Neon tetra fish are extremely small species that have remarkable colors printed throughout their bodies. As the term implies, it is similar to neon colors. And it serves an ideal match to the gills and fins that appear spectacular below the surface of the water. Especially when the water is clear, the colors really look amazing and good. I wonder, that during the nighttime, it has some neon impressions too. Well, probably, that’s a task that I need to know and it is for you to find out too. If you plan to buy some of these fish species, observe them when the lights are off to see if they really demonstrate these qualities.

They have rounded nose and spindle formed body – slim ones that make them appear more petite. Their colors are a mixture of red, blue, and silver. A blue line runs on each sides of their body starting from the nose to the fin. The red line can be found starting on the base of the body towards the fin and tail. And lastly, the backdrop of these two colors is a stunning silver!

The Origin

These fishes are freshwater fish that is an original from west of Brazil. You can also discover an vast number of these fishes in Columbia and east of Peru. You can catch them both in clear and black water streams. If you are marveling if you can catch them in blackwaters – yes you can! They have gleaming stripes – bright colors that make the noticeable even in the dark.

If you intend to buy a Neon Tetra Fish, you should keep in mind that they should be in groups of five because they are schooling fish. They can’t live and won’t live alone. Their dictum is “No one is an island”. So, if you don’t want too many neon tetra fish, don’t buy one because they only live with their buddies around.
